Keep Track Of Your Money With Wesabe

Wesabe is a free website that allows you to track your expenses and savings. Similar to desktop programs like Quicken or Microsoft Money, Wesabe gives you the ability to categorize your spending and set goals for savings and debt reduction. Unlike those traditional personal finance programs, Wesabe has a social networking twist where you can compare your expenses and savings to the user average and you can join discussion groups related to anything from getting debt free to spending smarter.  Another benefit is that it can be accessed from any computer or smartphone.

To get your financial data into Wesabe, you can use the Automatic Uploader, Firefox Uploader, Desktop Uploader or choose to upload manually on the website. Loading data can be a hassle, and many Canadian banks may need to be loaded manually. Setting up your accounts and finding your way around the site can also be a bit of a learning curve, but give Wesabe a try and I think you’ll like the unique insight into your finances that it provides.

For Canadians I’d suggest Quicken Online
    http://quicken.intuit.com/online-banking-finances.jsp

Not sure if Wesabe supports Cdn banks, but Quicken supports TD and PCF for sure

Pretty simple tool to track & categorize

Wesabe supposts 39 Canadian banks and credit unions. Thanks for pointing out Quicken Online, I’ll look into that one as well!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! I will check it out. I used to use http://www.expensr.com but it has merged with moneyStrands very recently. In the process of migrating my account from one to another, my data got completely corrupted and that pissed me off big time. Might be a good time to try wesabe out!

PageOnce Personal Assistant supports Canadian banks and Credit cards.
    Auto-refresh of data…

I found Quicken Online iphone app only worked by updating the information from a web browser and THEN accessing the updated data from the iphone app

The PageOnce iphone app is flawless…instant checks and balances…love it!
They also do a Cell Phone minutes/data tracker which is pretty smooth as well.

    Oh…and the price? Free !
