While we get Boxing Day on December 26th, the United States gets to take advantage of major deals before Christmas with Black Friday tomorrow and the relatively new Cyber Monday next week. However, there are a few ways that you can get in on the Black Friday deals.

One option is to go across the border and shop the deals in person. 75% of Canadians live within 150 kilometres of the United States border and the Canadian dollar is close to the US dollar right now. This might make it worth the trip if you want to do all your Christmas shopping in one weekend.
For most, a better choice is to shop online from US websites. Be aware of stores that don’t ship to Canada or those that charge a large amount for shipping that would negate any savings.
You’ll also find that some Canadian stores are actually having Black Friday sales. Most of these are computer stores like TigerDirect and NewEgg. Hopefully more stores will follow this trend in future years while competing for your shopping dollar.
While Black Friday isn’t a Canadian shopping tradition, that doesn’t mean you can’t benefit by taking advantage of the sales!

I have a ton of rich, executive level retail company friends who are just salivating to take advantage of the consumer. They get rich, you get poor.
Use common sense folks! Spending more to save more is NOT the way to go!

while they save before Christmas, we prefer buying our gifts first and then, save on extra junk on the 26th ;-0 LOL!
