Not only is Canada Day an important national holiday, it was also on this day last year that I really started to get Canadian Finance Blog noticed. Last Canada Day I hosted the Money Hacks Carnival – Canada Day Edition. Not only did this bring quite a few bloggers that didn’t know about the site over to visit, it was also my first foray into social media sites like Tip’d, PF Buss, Digg, and StumbleUpon. I also finished up an interview with Larry MacDonald that would be published in the Globe and Mail a few days later, the first press this site received.
Today I want to share with you some of the great Canadian finance blogs that are out there. Some you will know of for sure, but hopefully you’ll find some that you haven’t visited before. I’ve separated them into four very distinct sets of six blogs, let’s have a look…

The Big Guys
These sites inspire me to keep growing my blog. Not only do they post great articles, they have done a great job of promoting their site to gain so many readers.

- Canadian Dream: Free at 45
The Niche Bloggers
Whether it’s anything from taxes to retirement planning, these blogs specialize in a certain topic, which allows them to go more in depth and provide some great information.
- Canadian Tax Resource
- Studenomics
- Canadian Mortgage Trends
- Wealth Web Gurus
- MoneyEnergy
- Today’s Economy Blog
The New Breed
Some great sites have started up since Canadian Finance Blog came along. Hopefully I’ve helped to get them some exposure in the same way that the other sites above have helped me!
- Financial Highway
- Balance Junkie
- Canadian Couch Potato
- Young and Thrifty
- Bank Nerd
- Before You Invest
While these are the sites I’ve chosen to highlight today, you can find even more on my Personal Finance Links page. Canadian sites are noted with a maple leaf beside them. Hope you enjoy looking at all these blogs and have a happy Canada Day!
