Top 5: October 2009

My biggest announcement to come from October is the birth of my first child, Christian Drake. He was born on October 5th and I’ve had a great time getting to know him over the past four weeks! We celebrated here at The Canadian Finance Blog with the Baby Week Giveaway, where two lucky readers won No-Cry book sets, worth about $100 each!

Obviously the newborn took up quite a bit of my time this past month, but thankfully I had some help to keep the site going from some great bloggers who submitted guest posts. Ray from Financial Highway was first with Insurance You CAN NOT Do Without. Manshu from One Mint gave us Two Lessons Learnt From Warren Buffet’s Interview. Next was Tom, of The Credit Letter, who provided 10 Money Management Tips For Expectant Parents. And finally Jack, the writer at Master Your Card, helped out with How To Use Credit Cards Without Bankrupting Yourself. Thanks again for all the help!

I’ve mentioned it a couple times previously and now have an actual date to announce. The Canadian Finance Blog will be relaunching on November 9th! I’m customizing the new Headway theme and Logos for Websites is putting the final touches on the new graphics. But it’s not just a new look. You’ll find some new content and there will be new ways to interact with the blog through improved commenting and social media options. Last but not least, I’ll be hosting a giveaway of three of my favorite finance books! So check back next week to see the new Canadian Finance Blog!
