Workers Feel Less Loyal To Employers

Ipsos Reid recently released a poll from their Build a Better Workplace study that showed 22% of those polled expressed decreased loyalty to their employer. More concerning is that the number of employees feeling less loyal increases to 31% at companies where salaries have been frozen. Even worse at organizations that have recently had layoffs, where 36% of employees now feel less loyal to their employer.

While the numbers of disloyal employees are on the rise, there are some steps employers can take to increase loyalty before the economy turns around and it becomes easier for employees to leave. These include recognition of employee performance, encouraging the development of employees and providing a comfortable working environment.
